Destinations
Every island we cover
What each one is suited to, and what it is not. Grouped by chain, which is how the ferry network is organised.
Cyclades
13 of 24 covered
The iconic Greece. Whitewashed villages, dramatic cliffs and world-famous sunsets.

Santorini
JTRA drowned volcano with a town on the rim. Spectacular, and busy in a way you should plan around.

Mykonos
JMKThe party island, and unapologetic about it. Beautiful old town underneath the noise.

Naxos
JNXThe Cyclades without the premium. Big sandy beaches, mountain villages, real farming.

Paros
PASThe balanced one. Good beaches, decent nightlife, pretty ports, and easy to reach.

Milos
MLOVolcanic and strange. White rock coves you reach by boat, and some of the oddest coastline in Greece.

Sifnos
Ferry onlyWhere Greeks go to eat. Pottery, footpaths and a serious cooking tradition.

Folegandros
Ferry onlyA cliff-top village, a couple of beaches, and very little else. People come back for precisely that.

Amorgos
Ferry onlySheer, dramatic and far out. Hikers and divers come here; almost nobody else does.

Ios
Ferry onlyKnown for its nightlife, though the beaches are superb and the hills stay empty.

Syros
JSYThe administrative capital, so it stays open all year. Neoclassical, operatic, not really a resort.

Tinos
Ferry onlyMarble villages, a major pilgrimage church, and a food scene that has quietly got very good.

Andros
Ferry onlyGreen and wet by Cycladic standards, with the best waymarked walking network in the islands.

Symi
Ferry onlyA harbour of ochre neoclassical houses stacked up a cliff. An easy day trip from Rhodes.

Ionian
4 of 7 covered
Lush, green and serene. Crystal-clear seas, Venetian charm and a relaxed pace.

CFUGreen, Venetian and lush. Feels more Italian than Aegean, and rains enough to stay that way.

Zakynthos
ZTHShipwreck Beach and turtles on one side, heavy package tourism on the other. Choose your half carefully.

Kefalonia
EFLMountainous and big, with caves, a serious wine and an unreasonably blue sea.

Lefkada

Sporades
3 of 4 covered
Peaceful and natural. Pine-clad islands, beautiful beaches, made for slow travel.

Lesvos

Samos
SMIForested and mountainous, with sweet wine and Turkey visible across the strait.

Ikaria
Ferry onlyOne of the world's blue zones. People live a long time and go to bed extremely late.

Within reach of Athens by ferry. Four islands that make a day trip, or a short stay at the start or end of a longer route.

Hydra
Ferry onlyNo cars at all. Donkeys, stone mansions and a harbour that has barely changed.

Spetses
Ferry onlyAthenian weekend territory. Elegant, pine-covered and close enough for a short trip.
